Jo first embarked on her presenting career in 1999/2000, working as a Showbiz Presenter for "That Film Show" on Entertainment channel Rapture Television.
This involved covering high profile Film Premieres and interviewing stars on the Red Carpet.One of the highlights of this time was interviewing the main cast including Brad Pitt at the Premiere for Guy Ritchie's hit film,"Snatch".
Subsequently she went on to work for shopping channels Usave TV and Star Bazaar Television, the latter of which involved interviews with designers/celebrities on products they had designed, including the fashion legend, Zandra Rhodes.
The items that Jo worked with during her time with these channels ranged from bone china, to fitness equipment, and health and beauty products.
Jo's knowledge on the beauty industry stems from working at the famous Urban Retreat in Harrods. As part of the management team, she was given extensive training on the treatments and products available there, including Crème De La Mer, Guinot, Aveda and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. It was an invaluable experience and enabled her to have a full spectrum of product knowledge which was essential when interacting with the clientele.
The hairdressing industry also played a part in Jo's life for 2 years as prior to Urban Retreat, she worked as an Area Manager for the "Hollywood Hair Design Group", where she liaised with salon managers to ensure a smooth and successful running of each salon.
During her time there ,Jo was involved with the training of staff on the range of hair care products, including Paul Mitchell, L'Anza and L'Oreal Professional, so is extremely well informed on those products.
Jo also has a passion for writing which began at College where she studied English Language and English Literature, then she later went on to do courses in Creative Writing and Journalism. During her time at Hollywood Hair Design Group she also designed and edited the weekly in house salon magazine and wrote about the latest news and developments within the group together with interviewing up and coming stylists/colourists. She has also written travel pieces for local newspapers from her own experiences.
Jo has travelled rather extensively to the Far East, Australia, North and South America and Africa. She has a love for adventure and wildlife and during her travels has experienced the most incredible wildlife encounters including diving with Killer Whales in Norway, swimming with Dolphins in Israel, scuba diving trips to The Red Sea and a phenomenal wildlife Safari in Kenya.
She is extremely comfortable around animals wild and tame and has handled everything from pythons, salamanders to baby alligators!
