Liz is a confident, capable individual, with a strong talent and love for presenting and broadcasting, who adapts well to new environments and learns new skills effectively and efficiently.  In addition, her varied administrative background and newspaper writing experience have both provided her with further skills to offer, and a good basic grounding in the field of journalism.

Liz is currently a Freelance Broadcast Journalist, for Century FM, Xfm, Galaxy, and Smooth Radio, Manchester, where she is  responsible for producing news bulletins of up to 5 minutes and packages to be aired once or twice an hour at various stations throughout Manchester. She also cover travel news and sports, and am responsible for the entire news content at weekends working alone to produce hourly bulletins.

Before working at Century, Liz was Senior Broadcast Journalist at High Peak Radio. In her role at High Peak Radio, she covered all aspects of broadcasting news, including writing copy, cues, editing with the Enco Dadpro system, news gathering, outside broadcasts/interviews, regular telephone and studio interviews; as well as reading hourly national and local bulletins.  She deputised as News Editor when required, and also provided presenter cover.

Whilst at Salford University studying a degree in Media and Performance, Liz  presented ‘Gloves Off’, a topical debate show for Channel M aired weekly across Manchester. Liz interviewed a wide range of studio guests, from local MP’s to celebrities.  This role provided her with a wealth of experience into the inner workings of a television studio, and further honed her presenting and interview skills.

During term-time Liz wrote a weekly column for Student Direct Newspaper, in which she was given the responsibility to highlight and explore topics that were relevant to students and their lifestyles.:

Liz has a keen interest in keeping up to date with current affairs, both news and entertainment.  She also enjoys writing fictional novels and plays for radio and has had some interest from publishers, but as yet remains undiscovered!  She has also enjoyed travelling, having visited some beautiful countries including New Zealand and Canada.
