Carolyn Owlett

Carolyn Owlett is a British Actress, Television Presenter  and Voice Artist. She trained at IDSA.
Carolyn started her performing career as a teenage actress and was invited to join the National Youth Theatre.  After receiving great praise and several awards for her stage work, Carolyn was cast as TV 'bad girl' Sarah James in Channel 5's teen series, Harry and Cosh.  

In 2004, Carolyn signed a major record deal with Sony Epic as one fourth of UK girl group The 411.  The 411  had global success with their top 5 hits, On My Knees featuring Ghostface Killah of Wu Tang Clan and DUMB. The band were regulars on shows including  Top Of The Pops, Radio 1, T4,  Smash Hits, Popworld and MTV. During her time in the band, Carolyn's natural talent as a presenter became apparent and she was subsequently called upon as a regular guest presenter for MTV Base. 

In 2008 Carolyn hosted 'Sexy Girls have It Easy' for Current TV directed by BAFTA award winning filmmaker Tristan Anderson. An undercover look at how women are treated based on looks alone. The film was watched by 4 million viewers in the few weeks making it the TV stations highest rated documentary. She was asked to present several other documentaries with Anderson which ran on Current TV until the channel closed.

Having become aware of Carolyn's undercover journalistic skills,  interest in lifestyle topics (she was one of the first bloggers for London's leading lifestyle outlet - ONIN London and had a regular slot on London Live presenting a 'What On This Weekend' segment) and love of all things fashion related, Carolyn was offered a position on the fashion and features desk at Marie Claire magazine.  

Carolyn then moved into radio; writing, producing and hosting guest segments for the UK's largest broadcast outlets.  She has enjoyed a very successful career in broadcast interviewing some of the biggest names in showbiz including Dame Barbara Windsor, Sir Nick Hewer, James Martin and Blur's Alex James.
As a voice artist, Carolyn has represented many lifestyle brands including hosting pre recorded interviews for radio with Strictly's Len Goodman, to launch Remember A Charity Week 2019 and TV stylist Gok Wann on behalf of labels for less retailer TK MAXX.   
Using her fashion knowledge and journalistic experience, Carolyn became a regular guest fashion presenter for QVC UK,  she has been clocking up many hours of live television ever since. 
In the summer of 2018 Carolyn was cast in U.S feature film The Islander, alongside Caroline Goodall ( Schindlers List) , James Cosmo ( His Dark Materials) , Marco Ilsø ( Vikings)  her son, Billy Barratt ( Responsible Child).  The film is due for release later in 2020. 

Carolyn will also appear as key cast in award winning film maker Nicole Albarelli's new short,  DUST which is scheduled for release in Spring 2020.
